Mt. Olivet Lodge #203, in Washington, has again made the generous donation of 6 bicycles and helmets to the summer reading program, Bikes for Books, at the Gibbs Library, in an ongoing joint effort to instill a love of books in youths.

Children from all towns are encouraged to participate. This program is open to all children, including those who cannot yet read themselves, but have books read to them. Each child will be given a log book to write down the titles of books read. Every time a child reads the required number of books they will be given a sticker to put in their log book. Every sticker comes with a coupon to enter the drawing to win a bicycle and helmet specific to their size and gender. Reading more books increases the chance of winning a bicycle.

Sweet Seasons Café in Washington will give an ice cream cone to all readers when their log book is half full.
