SEARSPORT — The First Congregational Church of Searsport will present a “Festival of Gratitude” with area choirs 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, 8 Church St.
All donations at the door will be given to help Waldo County residents with fuel costs this winter.
The concert will feature the uplifting sounds of music performed by area choirs, including The First Congregational Church of Brooks UCC, Belfast United Methodist Church, Searsport Methodist Church, North Searsport Methodist Church and the First Congregational Church of Searsport.
Combined choir numbers under the direction of Nancy Cole, organist and choir director of the Searsport and North Searsport Methodist Churches, will bring the festival to culmination. A long time music teacher, choral director and organist, Cole will use her skills and abilities to create a memorable closing segment of choral music, sung by nearly 50 voices. Combined musical numbers include the poignant “The Majesty” and “Glory of Your Name,” by Tom Fettke and Linda Lee Johnson, and the inspirational “Creation Will Be At Peace” by Anna Laura Page.
As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, it is our hope to bring people together with music, and to give warmth to others though donations for fuel for those Waldo County residents in need of assistance.
The Festival is coordinated by Carolyn Maunz, minister of music at FCC Searsport. For further information, contact the First Congregational Church of Searsport at 207-548-0327 or Carolyn Maunz at email@example.com.
