PORTLAND, ME (August 13, 2014)—Mercy Health System of Maine, a provider of comprehensive healthcare services, is pleased to announce that its first Express Care+ facility, located at 175 Fore River Parkway, Portland, Maine has successfully completed its first 100 days of service. Open from 10am to 10pm, seven days a week, area residents and workers can seek immediate medical care close to where they live and work with ease and without the added expense of an emergency room visit.

“Broken bones, sprains, strains and other minor injuries and illnesses that require immediate attention are all treated quicker, at a lower cost at our Express Care+,” said Bob Nutter, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. “Making care more accessible is a priority for Mercy, and part of our strategic focus. The greater Portland area is bustling with activity and we are proud to bring another opportunity for compassionate, quality care to the community.”

The goal of Mercy Express Care+ is to treat medical conditions quickly with quality results. As explained by a patient of Mercy Express Care+, “[The Mercy Provider] identified a need to consult with a specialist for the ailment I needed care for at Mercy Express Care+. The specialist diagnosed me with a severe medical condition that required much more attention than I previously thought necessary — but I never had to leave the comfort of the Mercy Express Care+ to receive top notch care.”

Mercy Express Care+ at Fore River is staffed by emergency room physicians and open 12 hours a day, 365 days a year. With state-of-the-art advanced imaging and laboratory services, patients can receive the medical treatment they need when they need it.
