Maine State Ballet to hold auditions for Nutcracker Sept. 5 and 6

FALMOUTH, Maine – The Maine State Ballet is holding auditions for its holiday classic, “The Nutcracker” Sept. 5 and 6, at its location at 348 U.S. Route 1 in Falmouth.

Dancers from all schools are invited to audition. They must also be at least seven years old by October 15, 2014.

Dancers aged 13 and older will audition on Friday, September 5. Dancers in grade 7 and younger will audition on Saturday, September 6.

There is a ten dollar audition fee. Girls should wear black leotards and pink tights, hair in bun; boys should wear black tights, white shirt, black or white ballet shoes.

The schedule for auditions is:

Friday, September 5
Ages 13-15 from 4:30-5:30
Ages 16 & up from 5:30-6:30

Saturday, September 6
Grades 2 & 3 from 12:00-12:45
Grades 4 & 5 from 1:30-2:15
Grades 6 & 7 from 3:00-4:00
