Maine Public Relations Council hires Dana Lundy as administrative director

PORTLAND — Dana Lundy of Portland has been named administrative director of the Maine Public Relations Council , a statewide trade association. Through seminars, awards, networking events, and its annual conference, MPRC supports the professional development of communication professionals specializing in public relations, integrated marketing communications, public affairs, social media and human resources.

In her role, Lundy will oversee the day-to-day operations and administration of the organization, provide support to MPRC committees, along with maintaining financial and membership records.

“Dana brings operations and nonprofit knowledge, as well as attention to detail and can-do enthusiasm to help MPRC accomplish our communications mission,” notes MPRC President Linda Varrell.

Lundy received her bachelor’s degree from Bates College, and a master’s degree from Wheelock College. She has an extensive history of working with social service agencies, art organizations, and other nonprofit entities. Lundy served in executive management, direct service, and consulting positions, including Principal Consultant with Abacus Associates L3C, Executive Director of the New England Head Start Association, Operations Manager for the Child and Family Services Department of Kennebec Valley Community Action Program, and Program Specialist within the Maine Department of Health and Human Services.

“I’m looking forward to meeting and working with the many experienced communications professional members,” notes Lundy. “I know that my past experience has prepared me for this position, and I can’t wait to be an active part of the growth of MPRC.”
