The Maine Public Relations Council, a statewide association of communications professionals, has announced the newest members of its Board of Directors:
John Spritz has more than 35 years of experience working in marketing, business communications, and radio. Currently, he is account manager at Burgess Advertising & Marketing, based in Falmouth. He has also operated his own marketing agency in Portland, served as program director of WPKM-FM radio in Scarborough, and overseen Growing Portland, an economic development initiative of the city of Portland. Spritz holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Harvard College.
Kristan Vermeulen has extensive public relations and influencer marketing experience in segments including medical, government, beauty, pet nutrition, small business and non-profits. In her experience, Kristan has served as Director of Communications for the Department of Defense in Washington, D.C., prepared speeches for high-ranking generals and directors, crafted strategies for the agency’s internal communications, and managed crisis communications and public relations matters. Vermeulen operates her own PR & Influencer Marketing Consulting business. Her clients include: Sea Bags, CHART Metalworks, inner-eco and Maine Cat Catamarans. She graduated with a Master of Business Administration in 2015 from University of Maryland University College in Largo, Maryland and a bachelor’s degree in Business Management in 2011 from Hood College in Frederick, Maryland.
