UNION, Maine — The Maine Cheese Festival will be held 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, at Savage Oakes Vineyard and Winery, 174 Barrett Hill Road, rain or shine.
The festival, organized by Maine Cheese Guild, will feature more than 20 Maine artisan cheesemakers and more than 100 varieties of Maine-made cheeses.
There also will be food and nonalcoholic beverages for sale, music by Rough Sawn 1-3 p.m., chef demonstrations, question and answer sessions with cheesemakers, and cheese-centric raffles.
Tickets are $10 at the door or at www.mainecheeseguild.com; children under 12 free. Proceeds will benefit the guild’s efforts toward fostering and growing Maine-made cheese.
