PORTLAND, Maine (Aug 5, 2014)— Jamie Morin, president of Synchrony Point Consulting, was recently announced as the incoming president of the Maine Center for Creativity (MCC) board of directors, succeeding Katherine Greenleaf in the position.

Jean Maginnis, founder and executive director of MCC, announced the appointment and welcomed Joanne Bean, vice president and Chief Advancement Officer at Saint Joseph’s College, as the organization’s newest board member at the board’s annual meeting.

Morin is the former senior vice president of global client operations for WEX, having left the company to found her consultancy earlier this year. Morin has more than 25 years of experience leading service, sales and marketing teams in B2B, B2C, and higher education organizations and has been an MCC board member for eight years. In her new role as board president, Morin will take on leadership responsibilities including board recruitment, development, and strategic planning.

“My time as board president has been incredibly fulfilling, and I’m gratified to see Jamie step into this role,” said Greenleaf. “I’m confident her leadership, insight, and experience will continue to shape and forward MCC’s path.”

Bean recently joined Saint Joseph’s College after serving as the senior director of development for the Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor. A registered nurse and MBA, Bean is a recognized development professional with a reputation for building relationships and clearly communicating between differing constituencies.

“Joanne has been a great ally to the Center and we’re thrilled to have her join the board,” said Maginnis. “Both new additions – Jamie in a leadership capacity and Joanne to the board – are exciting as we look to advocate for the growth of creative industries in Maine through our Maine Network of Innovation & Creativity and our Maine Creative Industries Award.”

MCC is currently preparing for the second biennial Maine Creative Industries Award gala, November 15, 2014. Morin and Bean are participating in developing this important celebration of Maine’s creative economy.
