MACHIAS, Maine — The Machias First Friday Art Walk for July will be held at various locations downtown on July 5. Many artists will be displaying at the Machias Grange across from Bad Little Falls Park. Other participating businesses include The French Cellar, Fosters’ Art and Antiques, Woodwind Gallery and more.

The event runs from 5-8 p.m. and will be held each month except November. New artists and crafters are always welcome. Those artists and musicians that wish to set up outside downtown businesses should contact the individual business for permission. There is also an outdoor stage for full band performances, offered by Sandi Bryand at Bags ‘O Rags.

Work can be set up in the Grange as early as 8 a.m. on the day of the event and security will be provided.

This event is free, there are no commissions, and the Grange space is first come first serve. Pre-registration is not necessary.

At the Grange, crown molding hooks for hanging work on the walls of either floor of the Grange, as well as a ladder will be available. Some tables are available for public use but vendors are encouraged to bring their own. Vendors are also encouraged to bring their own special lighting if needed.

The Art Walk is not only for artists. Crafters of all sorts and local musicians are welcome, as long as the music is soft and unplugged.
