BROWNVILLE — When the Brownville Junction High School Alumni holds its reunion on Aug. 25 this year at the American Legion/BJHS Alumni building on Railroad Avenue, it will honor the last class to graduate from Brownville Junction High School in 1968. At the beginning of the 1969-70 school year, Brownville Junction High School and Milo High School joined together at the newly constructed Penquis Valley High School.
While BJHS continued to be used to house middle school students for several years, the Class of 1968 was the last to graduate from the school which was built circa 1920 to replace the Henderson High School that was destroyed by fire in 1919.
Also recognized at this year’s reunion will be the classes of 1958, 1948 and 1938.
If you are not a member of the BJHS Alumni Association, you can join by sending $10 to BJHS Alumni, PO Box 151, Brownville Junction, ME 04415.
If you would also like to attend the reunion luncheon on Saturday, Aug. 25, include $16 for lunch with your dues and be sure it is received before Aug. 4. The luncheon begins at 1 p.m. There will be time for visiting both before and after the luncheon.
The annual meeting for the association will be held 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, at the American Legion/BJHS Alumni Building.
