There is plenty to do this summer at Herring Gut Learning Center! Herring Gut’s First Work program for local teenagers is teaming up with several local businesses to offer a Herring Gut Community Market every Thursday from 10-3 beginning July 11 through August 15 . The market will be located on the way to the Marshall Point Lighthouse on Lobster Pound Road, Port Clyde at the Port Clyde Fresh Catch processing facility and retail store. Community members are encouraged to stop by the market to purchase fresh, student-grown vegetables, handmade cheeses, fresh fish, baked goods, and gifts in one convenient location. Students will also be available on Thursdays to provide free public tours of Herring Gut’s campus to those interested in learning more about aquaponics and marine science. Other vendors at this year’s market will include Port Clyde Fresh Catch, Bittersweet Heritage Farms, Blue Tulip shop, Village Ice Cream, and Spruce Head Pizza. Stop by to support our local students and businesses!
