Greater Portland business community to celebrate local businesses and Young Professional of the Year

PORTLAND — Hundreds from the Greater Portland business community will gather at TIQA Pan Mediterranean on Thursday, June 28 for The 2nd Annual Ignition Awards, the awards ceremony hosted by PROPEL and the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce to honor local businesses and one individual who truly stands out from the crowd.

Nominations are being accepted for awards in the Small Business Division, including, “Social Entrepreneurship,” a “Startup focusing on International Trade,” and new this year, “Young Professional of the Year,” as well as in the Large Business Division, including “Social Entrepreneurship” and “Growth Stimulation.”

“This event represents a great opportunity to bridge the gap between young professionals and more established business persons,” remarked Ignition Awards Chair and PROPEL board member Rebecca Bolduc. “We are focused on propelling Maine’s future through our three pillars: Network, Develop and Live, right here in Maine. Following last year’s sold out event, this year’s Ignition Awards will be a chance to showcase that Portland is filled with amazing opportunities from a variety of businesses, with fun and unique celebrations to define and acknowledge business success in our community.”
