ROCKPORT — The Goose River Golf Club is finally ready to say, “Come, play” when the club opens for the 2019 season on Saturday, May 4. Initially, the course will be open for walking only, with carts to be added at a later date once the course boasts dryer conditions.
Head Golf Professional Alex Plummer reports the Goose maintenance crew, headed by Superintendent Kelley Macomber, has been hard at work to ready the course for play while he monitors the weather. “Unfortunately, the unfavorable weather conditions have set us back a bit, but we’re ready to go.”
The popular Goose River Practice Range, located directly across the street from the golf course, opened earlier this week on Tuesday, April 30.
“I’m very much looking forward to this year’s golf season,” said Plummer, “and welcoming our returning members, new members, and valued guests.”
Spring rates are $15 for nine holes walking and $25 for 18 holes walking. Cart fees will be $12 for nine holes and $18 for 18 holes. The course is open 8 a.m.-6 p.m. daily.
