WESTBROOK — Westbrook Public Safety, along with Saco & Biddeford Savings and the Westbrook Hannaford, will be hosts to a free Kids Safety Day 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, in Westbrook, in the parking lot between Hannaford and Saco & Biddeford Savings, 2 Hannaford Drive, rain or shine.
The schedule is:
10 a.m.-1 p.m. View smokehouse, fire trucks, ambulances and police vehicles
10 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Face painting, CPR demonstrations
10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Visit a mock crime scene
10:30 and 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. K-9 demonstrations
11 a.m. Vehicle extrication demonstration
Free hotdogs, popcorn, water and soda will be available all day to attendees.
Additionally, Ernie’s Cycle Shop and the Bicycle Coalition of Maine will sponsor a bicycle rodeo and provide bike safety checks throughout the event. The Michael T. Goulet Traumatic Brain Injury and Epilepsy Foundation will be giving away free multisport helmets to the first 200 attendees along with a fitting and safety check. Bring your old helmet in for a fitting. CPR demonstrations and blood pressure screening will be available as well. Come check out the inside of a race car, the Seatbelt Simulator and pick up a child identification kit.
Visit the Westbrook Youth Football table to learn about new sports safety equipment. Folks from the Girls Scouts of Maine will also be on site to explain some outdoor survival skills and first aid treatment. Participate in the Passport to Safety program and enter to win one of two bicycles.
