SOUTH CHINA —  A barbecue benefit will be held 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at the American Legion, 79 Legion Memorial Drive, to help with the care for Windor’s 4-year-old Serenity Bunn, affectionately known as “Blueberry”,  with end stage cancer.

At age two, Blueberry was diagnosed with stage 4 Refractory Neuroblastoma. Two years later, after multiple rounds of chemotherapy, tumor removals, and immunotherapy, her family has been informed that the cancer has stopped responding to treatment and they are now looking to try and spend as much time with her as possible. They have been given a year but told not to count on it.

For someone so young and having been through so much, Blueberry is still full of sass and love. She is sweet and funny and definitely runs the roost. Blueberry loves to play with makeup and dress up like a princess, but at the same time she is a country girl at heart and loves to fish and play out doors with her uncles. She gives the best hugs and has the sweetest smile. She loves her twin sisters, Faith and Hope. Blueberry loves animals, horses are her favorite. In the time she has left, we are trying to get her riding lessons! She is full of life and she brings so much joy to everyone that knows her!

Many local artists and businesses have made donations and we will be having door prizes, raffles, silent auctions, and more. There will also be face painting for the kids!

Please come and show support for little Blueberry! We look forward to seeing everyone.

For those of you who are unable to attend but would still like to bless/give to Blueberry. You may give to her Blueberry Donation Account at Bar Harbor Bank in South China, Maine or P. O. Box 20 Windsor, Maine 04363
