SOUTHWEST HARBOR, Maine — Thom Willey, filmmaker and resident of Southwest Harbor, will show his newest documentary of artist and Northeast Harbor resident Richard Estes at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, at the Southwest Harbor Public Library, 338 Main St.
Watch Richard Estes, one of the world’s foremost contemporary realist artists, describe his journey from his boyhood in Illinois to the life of famous artist in New York and Maine. Travel with Estes through time, viewing interviews from 1998 and 2014, as he reveals his influences and techniques. Along with local author and critic Carl Little, Estes describes how he creates the urban landscapes and other works that fill museum galleries and private collections around the world.
Thom Willey has worked nationwide for more than 25 years as a camera assistant in television and motion pictures.
