ROCKLAND — An exhibition of work by Scarlet Kinney will be on display at the new Action Art Gallery Oct. 4-26, at 411 Main St., #206.

Kinney explores animal and feminine archetypal energies in her paintings. The focus of this month’s show is to highlight domestic violence against women. Kinney will be completing a triptych painting called “The Dancer” which will be live streamed on Facebook from Action Art Gallery. Public participation in discussion is welcomed in the gallery and online.

Action Art Gallery in partnership with the artist, is committed to donating 10 percent of all sales to local charities and community oriented organizations in Maine. As Part Of October’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Kinney has chosen Next Step in Ellsworth.

A closing party will be held 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26. Details for an online/silent auction of the completed painting “The Dancer” will be published through the Gallery. Further information may be obtained from Action Art Gallery by calling 207-299-4015.
