On November 8th, Maine voters will head to the polls to weigh in on a number of referendum questions, including Question 5 which will ask voters whether to replace our current voting system with ranked choice voting for federal and state primary and general elections beginning in 2018.

Ann Luther from the League of Women Voters of Maine will be at the Southwest Harbor Public Library on Wednesday, September 14th from 6:00pm to 7:00pm for a free, educational, nonpartisan presentation on this topic.

The event is open to the public and community members are encouraged to attend. The presentation will explain how ranked choice voting works, how voters use the ballots, how it compares to our current system, where it is currently used across the state, country, and world, and how voters have responded to its implementation.

Attendees are encouraged to participate in the question and answer session following the presentation. For more information or any additional questions, please contact Finn Melanson by email (finn@lwvme.org) or by phone (207-420-0469).
