Eastport Pirate Festival announces rules for annual poster contest

EASTPORT — The Eastport Pirate Festival will hold a poster contest with submissions required by 12 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6. The rules are as follows:

— Submissions must be original artwork.

— Please only one submission per person.

— ALL submissions are given will full rights to the Eastport Pirate Festival and may be altered as necessary to be used for purposes as seen fit by the festival committee.

— Works may be up to 11×17 inches and can be done in any medium, color, or black-and-white.

— Designs should represent the exuberant, family-friendly fun that is the Pirate Festival.

— Artists don’t need to put in advertisement words, dates, etc, just juicy piratical graphic content. We’ll add the details later.

— Works must be delivered by 12 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6 to Eastern Maine Images, 28 Water St. (if local) or mail Eastport Pirate Festival, PO Box 142, Eastport, Maine, 04631.

— Artwork will be displayed downtown throughout the festival (to be determined) , and will be judged by popular vote.

— Jack Sparrow will announce the winning artwork and will preside over a lively auction of the original artworks 12 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8.

***The Eastport Pirate Festival will reserve the rights to all artwork entries and the discretion to use said pieces as future Poster materials.
