Belfast.  On Thursday, November 5th at 7:00 PM the Hutchinson Center Arts Celebration will present a free concert by The Somerset Consort. This local ensemble will perform music ranging from the late Renaissance and Baroque to the contemporary.

Carlton T. Russell, well known in the area as an organist, will, for this concert, perform on harpsichord. Russell is professor of music and organist emeritus at Wheaton College, Norton, Massachusetts. His wife, Lorna Brookes Russell, also an organist and retired French teacher, will perform on viola da gamba and harpsichord. She and her husband are Ministers of Music at St. Francis by the Sea Episcopal Church in Blue Hill. Diana Brookes Brown, flute and recorder, also performs frequently in the area, both as a soloist and as a member of the ensemble “Harmoniemusik.” A retired music teacher, she now teaches flute and voice at the Belfast Academy of Music. This promises to be a delightful evening of music making.

If you have any questions, please contact the Hutchinson Center at 338-8000. The concert is free and open to the public.
