DRA Winter Party at Round Top Farm open to all

 DAMARISCOTTA, Maine — The Damariscotta River Association invites the entire community to a Winter Party noon-3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, at Round Top Farm.

The event will feature Nordic ski clinics, sledding, a dog sledding demonstration, a campfire with hotdogs and marshmallows, ice skating, a puck-shooting contest with posters for all participants, and an animal tracks craft in the warming hut which will be open. Hot dogs for $1 each, and Nordic ski clinics are $12 each, including an optional rental. All other activities are free of charge.

The Nordic ski clinics will be taught by an instructor from the L.L. Bean Discovery school by the hour. Pre-registration is required. Participants wishing to rent equipment must provide their weight and height with registration. To register for the Nordic clinics contact the DRA.

In the event of no snow or if it rains, the event will be held Sunday, Feb. 16.

The Damariscotta River Association is a non-profit membership supported organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the natural, cultural, and historical heritage of the Damariscotta River, its watershed, and adjacent areas for the benefit of all. DRA has active programs in the areas of land conservation, stewardship, community education, water quality monitoring, marine conservation and cultural preservation.
