Dr. Singh joins Portland Surgical Associates

PORTLAND, Maine — Portland Surgical Associates is proud to announce Dr. Neena Kaur Singh has joined their skilled team of providers. Portland Surgical Associates is composed of four surgeons: Karin Cole, Christopher Rogers, Benjamin Russell and Neena Singh as of September 2014.  As a general surgeon, Dr. Sign specializes in minimally invasive surgery.

“Dr. Singh brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Portland Surgical Associates. We are excited to provide yet another opportunity for Mercy patients to receive the best care possible,” said Eileen Skinner, president and CEO of Mercy Health System of Maine.

Dr. Singh strives to employ minimally invasive diagnostic and surgical techniques to help prevent serious illness, ease pain and speed recovery. PSA’s services include: surgery for complex gastrointestinal cancer and skin cancer, advances laparoscopic surgery, colon and small bowel resection, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, anti-reflex surgery, treatment of diverticulitis, hemorrhoids and anorectal problems.

I studied and completed my Residency on the east coast and I am looking forward to practicing in Maine,” said Dr. Singh. “I’ve learned techniques that will help the patients in the Mercy community as well as my peers. Minimally invasive surgery is a benefit to patients and their families because of the faster recovery time.”

Dr. Singh earned her medical doctorate from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  She is a member of the American College of Surgeons and in the Society for Endoscopic and Gastrointestinal Surgeons. She completed her Residency at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University in Camden, New Jersey in June of 2013 and went on to join the University of Arizona participating in a minimally invasive surgery, robotics and bariatric surgery fellowship.
