Friday was Vaughn Smith’s 83rd birthday.

Meeting the Marginally Famous Bangor Police Department Duck of Justice WAS on his bucket-list.

Vaughn has a duck puppet.

Nope, not kidding. Melody thought it was real.

I still do.

Vaughn is an artist.

Vaughn’s wife and daughter came with him on this momentous occasion. Judith, his wife, advised against bringing the duck puppet.

So did, Sharon, his daughter.

Did I mention it’s VAUGHN’S BIRTHDAY.

Vaughn does what he wants. Vaughn brought the duck puppet.

Go ahead, search the Interweb- there is no other police department in America where an 83-year-old man was able to check one item off his bucket list by meeting a stuffed, marginally famous duck while his right hand was manipulating a duck puppet.

Oh, we’ve got our problems, but this ain’t one of them.

Happy birthday Vaughn. Happy birthday.

Keep your hands to yourself, leave other people’s things alone, and be kind to one another.

We will be here
