How can we join together to grow a thriving local business community? The Land Trust is reaching out to partner with local lodges and camp owners to help generate interest and awareness in their properties at what might be a slower time of year. Each of the area lodges was visited in Spring and each lodge selected an event that might be suitable for their location. We are trying to create events that would be of interest to the locals as well as visiting guests. We’re helping by reaching out to different markets via our facebook page and other media as well. Together we’re working to make our region a better place. We also offer school programs and field trips throughout the year where the children are learning about the importance of conservation, useful outdoor skills and meeting face to face with much that nature has to offer. We are committed to awakening a connection with nature in our young people so that they can develop an appreciation for their potential as stewards of the environment. Below is one of our events:

Join the Woodie Wheaton Land Trust and First Settler’s Lodge for an all inclusive smokehouse rib or chicken dinner including dessert and any in-house beverage with a viewing of Len Sherman’s documentary on his trip through the Northwest Passage – based on his book “Arctic Odyssey”. There will be three seatings available (3pm, 5pm, 7pm) , so please call First Settler’s to make your reservation.
Price is $27 per person.
