Giant Yard Sale Announced
The Curran Homestead Living History Farm & Museum’s 3rd Annual Giant Yard Sale will be held Saturday, June 8, and Sunday, June 9, from 8 am too 2 pm each day at 372 Fields Pond Road in Orrington.
The funds raised at the yard sale are used to operate the Farm and support its mission to preserve and promote the rural Maine Family Farm through public education programs and demonstrations. The Curran Homestead is uniquely positioned as a place where Maine’s turn-of-the-20th-Century farming history comes to life for children and adults.
To donate items for the sale, contact Dick Hanson (tel: 825-4457), Bruce Bowden (tel: 356-5076; email@example.com) or bring items to the Farm on Saturdays, starting May 11, from 10 am to 2 pm or by appointment. Items must be in good condition and good working order. Please consider donating.
The Curran Homestead is a 501©(3) nonprofit organization and all donations are tax deductible to the extent law allows. A receipt/deed of gift can be provided upon request for any donations either to the yardsale or for any vintage(late 1800’s or early 1900’s farm machinery, equipment, implements, or household items intended for the Farm’s collections. Any judgement or appraisal of value for IRS use is the responsibility of the donor.
The Farm’s two-day Olde-Fashioned Festival will be July 20-21 as part of Orrington’s 225th Anniversary Celebration as a salute to farm families. Maine Antique Tractor Club members and their families will be special guests. Activities will include displays of vintage farm machinery and tractors, model T and wagon rides, kids’ games, scavenger hunts, live music, noon barbeques, small animals, and living history story-telling and demonstrations.
