Concert Pianist Mira Gill at the Eastport Arts Center

The Concert Series at the Eastport Arts Center is thrilled to welcome back world-class concert pianist Mira Armij Gill on Friday, August 22rd at 7pm. Many will remember Ms. Gill’s memorable performances for the past seven years in Lubec, Eastport, and Saint Andrews. This years performance will feature an exciting and varied selection of works by Scarlatti, Clementi, Mendelssohn, Chopin, Liszt, Scriabin, and Lyapuncov. Admission is $10, free for 18 and under. A reception will follow with refreshments courtesy of The Waco and The Chowder House. The Eastport Arts Center is located at 36 Washington Street in Eastport.

Mira Armij Gill is an artist and a teacher. A native of Salt Lake City, Utah, she is a graduate of the Julliard School where she received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. She has performed all over the country and internationally, including at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York City, and has been featured on television and radio. In addition to her busy performance schedule, she keeps an active private teaching studio in New York City.

Eager to use her musical gifts for a greater good, Ms. Gill has performed recitals to fundraise for a variety of causes such as Habitat for Humanity’s hurricane relief, the awareness and combat of HIV/AIDS in India, and the Dana-Faber Cancer Institute. Most recently she has partnered with SAYA! (South Asian Youth Action), the only non-sectarian comprehensive youth organization dedicated to create social change and opportunities for low-income South Asian youth, to establish a piano program and serves as their resident teaching artist. She lives and works in New York.
