Community High School announces honor parts

FORT KENT, Maine – Community High School at Fort Kent recently announced its honor parts for the Class of 2013. Graduation exercises were held Friday, June 7,  in the Community High School Gymnasium.

 Melanie Dorice Saucier, daughter of Diane Nadeau-Saucier and D. Gary Saucier of Fort Kent, was named valedictorian of the Class of 2013. Melanie will attend New England Conservatory in Boston, Mass., where she will major in vocal performance opera/music. Throughout her four years of high school, Melanie participated in National Honor Society, Drama Club, French Club, and Youth Voices. Melanie served as President of the French Club and served as the Secretary of the National Honor Society. Melanie was a member of the first cohort of students involved in the Pleasant Street Academy and has been involved in numerous collaborative and solo musical performances. 

Marissa Hebert, daughter of Lisa and Maurice Hebert of Fort Kent, was named salutatorian of the Class of 2013. She will attend Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, N.H., where she will major in health sciences. Throughout her four years of high school, Marissa participated in Student Council, Key Club, Natural Helpers, and National Honor Society. Marissa served as Class President throughout her four years of high school and Vice-President of the National Honor Society. Marissa has been active volunteering for a number of events in our school and community.

 Abby Stevens, daughter of Doris and Gary Stevens of Fort Kent, was named honor essayist of the Class of 2013. She will attend Husson University in Bangor, where she will major in occupational therapy. Throughout her four years of high school, Abby participated in Student Council, Key Club, Natural Helpers, and National Honor Society. Abby served as class vice president and president of the National Honor Society. Abby was a member of the first cohort of students involved in the Pleasant Street Academy and was involved in soccer and tennis.
