Color Run in Fort Kent

FORT KENT, Maine — Fitness, fun, and color are coming to Fort Kent. With color runs being popular in southern parts of the state, Color ME is a color run for the St. John Valley. Color ME is designed for all ages and abilities of participants, whether it be running or walking, and is untimed. Participants will leave covered in multiple colors.

“This event is to promote health and happiness, by bringing the community and two countries together,” said Jonathan Kelley of CompetitorME, event coordinatorm, in a press release. Fort Kent is the perfect location for this event, as fitness is important to so many.

On Sept. 20, Color ME will begin at Riverside Park at the Lion’s Club Pavilion, take participants over the Fish River bridge, past University of Maine at Fork Kent on Pleasant Street, across the upper Fish River Bridge on Bridge Street, back on Market Street and finishing at Riverside Park.

Stations of color will be along this route, where different colors will be disseminated. The Color ME distance is 3.1 miles and is open to all ages. Color ME gets underway at 1 p.m. and concludes with a huge release of color for all participants.

Event registration must be completed online by Friday, Sept. 12. Registration closes after that date, and there will be no event-day registration. The cost is $30 for individuals. Registrants will receive one free packet of color, color on the course, and access to water. To register, visit
