BANGOR — In order to discourage gatherings of more than 10 people, the city of Bangor strongly encourages that those in need of food at this time to obtain “grab and go” meals at the following locations:

  • The Brick Church, 126 Union Street, Monday through Friday at 4:15 p.m.
  • Greater Bangor Area Homeless Shelter, seven days a week at 12:00 p.m.
  • Salvation Army, 65 S. Park Street, seven days a week at 11:45 a.m.

In addition, the Bangor School Department continues to provide lunch and breakfast bags to any Bangor student, Monday through Friday from noon to 1 p.m. Bangor students can pick up lunch and breakfast bags at Abraham Lincoln School, Downeast School, Fairmount School, James F. Doughty School and Vine Street School, regardless of which Bangor public school they attend.

Buses are now also delivering school meals at the same time to the following sites: the corner of Bolling and Mitchell; 979 Essex Street (Holiday Mobile Home Park); Cameron Stadium (Mt. Hope Parking Lot); Market Street (Bangor Tire Parking Lot); and the Ranger Inn.
