Bridges & ADRC Conversation Corner: Veterans’ Benefits & the Affordable Care Act

Do you kow what you & members of your family are entitled to? Veteran’s, their widows, widowers or children have you discovered any or all of the benefits that you may be entitled to? Maine has a variety of benefits available to qualifying veterans and dependents in addition to those offered by the federal government. On August 7 at 1:00 p.m. Conrad Edwards, Veterans’ Advocate for the State of Maine, Bureau of Veterans’ Services will discuss the many state and federal benefits available to community members who served in the U. S. military or who are the widow or dependent of a US Veteran.

Find out about:
• New Veterans Administration (VA) education and training benefits.
• Training available at local educational institutions.
• Services provided by the State Veteran’s Services Officer.
• The Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Mobile Service Office
• Veteran’s Hosptial
• Maine’s Veterans’ Homes
• The VET Center van

Veterans are encouraged to bring a guest to this program. Although pre-registration is not required to be eligible to participate, if you do plan on coming or will be bringing a guest, advance notice is appreciated. Please call 563-1363.
