BREWER —The Brewer Land Trust is proud to announce the 2nd Annual Brewer Land Trust Day will be held Sunday, Sept. 9 on the Brewer Riverwalk. From 12-3:30 p.m. community members and local businesses can come together to bring awareness to outdoor activities and the nonprofit Brewer Land Trust.
Brewer Land Trust president, Linda Johns, said the Board of Advisors are anticipating a great event for all outdoor enthusiasts with Brewer and the surrounding towns having much to offer.
The event will feature live music by Doug Gardner, several local business booths including Penobscot County Soil & Water Conservation, Maine Audubon –Fields Pond Center, Generations Boutique kids painting, Winterport Boot Shop, Bangor YMCA, and a canoeing/kayaking demonstration from the Brewer Outdoor Education Group. The event will also offer plenty of activities geared towards children including face painting, bubbles, chalk, jump rope and Bike Rally. The Penobscot River Community Coalition and the Bangor Area Storm water Group will host educational environmental booths.
Mason’s Brewing Company is sponsoring a closing celebration where all members of the land trust ($25 membership fee) will be entered into prize drawings. Some of the prizes include a 10 foot Vapor Kayak, gift cards from Mason’s, Tiller & Rye, Logical Sip and The Whole Grain Bakery, and overnight accommodation’s at Vacationland Inn-Special Suite Rooms. Items will be on display at Mason’s.
Chris Morley, owner of Mason’s Brewing Company stated that conservation of public natural resources is important to the community and he is happy to support the work of the Brewer Land Trust.
