Black History Month breakfast set for Feb. 15 at UMaine

ORONO — The 5th Black History Month Black Lives Matter Breakfast is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 15 at the Wells Conference Center on the University of Maine campus. The event is sponsored by the Maine Human Rights Coalition Inc.

Featured speaker is 96-year-old civil rights leader Mary Hunter. Part of the program will include reflecting on the life of former NBA basketball star Kobe Bryant, his daughter and others killed in a recent helicopter crash in California. Elected officials will also speak.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for students and seniors over 60, and $8 for children. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance at Wilson Center, 57 College Ave., Orono; Zone Radio, 861 Broadway, Bangor; and the Milford Motel, 174 Rte. 2 East in Milford.
