BAR HARBOR — Bar Harbor Bankshares, is pleased to announce the promotion of four employees to the title of Senior Vice President: Kimberly Nason, Lara Horner, Lorraine Ivers and John Williams.

Kimberly Nason, SVP, Retail Lending Support Manager, started at Bar Harbor Bank & Trust in 2014 as AVP, Staff Development and Training. In 2015 she was promoted to VP, Retail & Residential Operations Officer. Kim has 25 years of retail lending experience and holds a MBA from the University of Maine Orono. With her promotion to SVP, Kim’s office location will transfer from Maine to Newport, New Hampshire. “Kim has been a steady performer for the Bank and we are particularly pleased to fill this important role from within,” said Curtis Simard, President and CEO of Bar Harbor Bank & Trust.
Lara Horner, SVP, Director of Trust Operations, started at Bar Harbor Bank & Trust in 1998. In 2001, she was promoted to Trust Operations Officer of Bar Harbor Trust Services and continues to lead the operations team in Ellsworth, Maine. With this promotion to SVP, Director of Trust Operations, Lara will oversee and manage the combined operations for Bar Harbor Trust Services and Charter Trust Company. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College. “Having successfully managed the Bar Harbor Trust Services operations for many years, we are confident in Lara’s ability to assume this increased responsibility,” said Curtis Simard, President and CEO of Bar Harbor Bank & Trust.
Lorraine Ivers, SVP, Chief Compliance Officer, joined Bar Harbor Bank & Trust in 2016 as VP, Senior Risk & Compliance Analyst. Later she assumed the title of BSA Officer as well. With 30 years of banking experience, Lorraine has spent about half of that time in the risk and compliance area. She holds an associate’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Maine at Augusta and her office is located in Hampden, Maine. “Lorraine’s experience is quite impressive and her leadership will continue to advance our focus on risk management,” said Curtis Simard, President and CEO of Bar Harbor Bank & Trust.
John Williams, SVP, Enterprise Risk Management and Project Management, joined Bar Harbor Bank & Trust in 2014 as Senior Risk Management Analyst. In 2015 he was promoted to AVP and in 2016 he advanced to VP, Enterprise Risk Management. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Yale University and his office is located in Hampden, Maine. “John is a strong leader; overseeing our expanding Project Management team, he has been instrumental in both improving and growing the organization,” said Curtis Simard, President and CEO of Bar Harbor Bank & Trust.
