MILBRIDGE — I hope this finds you and yours well and thriving during this challenging and surreal time! As we all know, books are one thing that can always keep us company, even when we’re alone – or social distancing.
I am so proud to share with you that Little Free Library (littlefreelibrary.org) has landed in Milbridge! With community support, LFL has a temporary home at Vazquez Mexican restaurant in Milbridge. This precious box will allow for people to access books and “take a book/share a book” until the local library re-opens. In the meantime, local residents and families can find comfort in the wonder of books by reaching into this box – except there are not many books to choose from.
I’m writing to ask if you’d like to be a part of building our Little Free Library. I started the box with just a few donated books that I have read and am ready to pass along for others to enjoy. The problem is, I had no children’s or Young Adult books to contribute to this effort … yet. Remember all of the wonderful visits you may have had in Milbridge? Might you have a book or two that you can contribute to the Milbridge Little Free Library? Whether it is a book of your own or a beloved hand me down, your contribution can help build this library and this community.
If you are able to contribute any books to the effort, please send my way and know how much they will be appreciated by me and everyone making use of the Little Free library in Milbridge, ME. For every donation of books in these inaugural days, we will recognize your contribution on our library box and I’ll take a photo and share with you as the list grows!! Any and all contributions of books may be sent (Book rate of course) to:
