Islandport Press is pleased to announce that Anna E. Jordan has joined the staff as an editor and special projects coordinator. She will handle general editing projects, create special literary events, and develop new outreach programs to introduce Islandport books to new audiences and new generations of readers.
Jordan, who lives in Brunswick, has extensive experience in publishing and education, as well as event planning. The company, founded in 1999, has recently doubled the number of printed books it publishes, and continues to expand into new markets and formats, extend its social media presence, and upgrade its technological capabilities.

Anna E. Jordan was a founding member of the Maine Illustrators’ Collective (MEIC), regional advisor for New England Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators (NESCBWI), and the principal and founder of Creative Bookings, an author visit booking agency. She has planned numerous large and small events including: the MEIC Fall Folio Fest series; NESCBWI Annual Conference and Illustrator Academies (2008 to 2011); The Friends School of Portland admissions events (2010 to 2011); the Cow Island Classic regatta (2013 to 2015); The Brunswick Inn open house (2014); and the Maine Share Fair (2015).
Jordan has her MFA from Vermont College of Fine arts and is a freelance editor, children’s book writer, poet, and illustrator. She also is a University of Southern Maine alumna with an MSEd and more than 15 years of experience teaching in public school, independent school, adult education, and college classrooms, as well as conferences and Maine Writers and Publishers Association workshops.
