BELFAST — The second annual Meeting of Aging Well in Waldo County will be held 6-8:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, at Waldo County Technical High School. A buffet dinner prepared by students follows presentations on AWWC progress in three areas. These were the significant ones designated on a county-wide survey: senior isolation, transportation and housing. The towns making progress will give examples while Jeff Trafton, County Sheriff, will speak on how Triad and AWWC are collaborating.
Members from the community who are interested in attending or collaborating in any of the County towns are invited to call Happy Bradford, 338-3448 or Wendy Kasten 338-0462. Work has been completed on a directory of services for seniors soon to be available. There is work in progress on housing initiatives and resources to lessen some isolation issues.
Entertainment by The Great Thunder Chickens, a Native American drumming group from Palermo will complete the evening
