I have deemed this story- “Adventures in Babysitting”

Nice Mom- “Officer, I have to run into the store to grab one thing. The thing is, my child is having a pretty good nap in the back seat. Are you busy for one minute?

Officer Tom Valente- “I am going to be here for a while as I need to finish this accident report, so, while I have very little experience in child care, I should be able to handle this.

Nice Mom- Goes in store, comes right out (child continues to sleep)- “Thank you, Officer!”

Officer Tom Valente- “You’re welcome, your child is very well behaved.”

And so goes another day of policing in Bangor, Maine.

Keep your hands to yourself, leave other people’s things alone, and be kind to one another.

We will be here.
