BANGOR — Bangor Daily News will present Act Out: Women’s Adventure Expo 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at Husson University. Tickets are free but pre-registration gets you an extra entry for door prizes.

Act Out is for anyone who wants to get more out of their outdoor adventures. The expo is inspired by BDN Outdoor Blogger Aislinn Sarnacki’s blog “Act Out with Aislinn,” where she inspires readers to greater adventures through her One Minute Hike videos and posts about trying new things in the outdoors, helpful how-tos, and other cool outdoor offerings from around Maine.

Throughout the day attendees can attend skill building workshops such as “Kayaking: What to know before you go” presented by Castine Kayak Adventures; “Women’s Self-Defense” taught by Jenny McPhearson; “How to Hike with Dogs” presented by Aislinn Sarnacki, and more. Vendors from around Maine will provide gear demonstrations, product samples, and information about trails and activities throughout the day.

The beer garden will feature beers by Baxter Brewing, which can be purchased by donation. A portion of the proceeds will go to Bangor Land Trust.

All attendees will be entered to win door prizes from Zootility, Flowfold, Chicks Climbing and Skiing, COAST Products, Angela Walsh Tocara Jewelry and more. Attendees who pre-register will get an additional entry, and BDN subscribers will get another additional entry.
