BANGOR, Maine — A unique feature of college life at The Kingʼs Daughtersʼ Home of Bangor is that wonderful, great big kitchen. Itʼs just like being in a country farm house, and that kitchen is loaded. Developing your skills in cooking is fun, but not only that, it can also be quite a social event.
We had a great mid-summer activity here at KDH on July 22. Husson University allowed 18 of their Korean exchange students to have a fun evening event at the home; a cooking competition. Taylor Evans of NESCOM was a great leader for the event, but the students out performed themselves, course after course; some hot and spicy and others with unique appeal and tastes.
Team No. 1 was the grand winner, but oh what fun being the judge. What a wonderful experience; mind as well be in Korea, chowing down in a little corner buffet.
Just imagine the girls that get to live at King’s Daughter’s. They get to use that kitchen all the time.
There are other rooms of course, that are equally big and enjoyable, so whether you are a girl who is a student at Eastern Maine Community College, Husson University, University of Maine at Augusta Bangor campus, New England School of Communication or other institutions in the Bangor vicinity, why not have the best of both worlds? You can have a home to go to, and all the campus events as well.
