3rd Annual Gala Concert in Bucksport

The Bucksport Area Cultural Arts Society will present a Gala Concert featuring internationally renowned musicians in a program of classics, jazz and Broadway at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, at the Bucksport Performing Arts Center, Bucksport Middle School, 100 Miles Lane. The artists who will perform have established roots in the Bucksport area. Joining them will be Bucksport High band director, Mark Neslusan. The event, featuring the Kawaii grand piano purchased by the society, will benefit the society’s programs and activities.
Daniel Epstein, coordinator of the event and professor of piano at Rutgers University, is an internationally recognized concert pianist who lives in New York City, and summers on Toddy Pond with his wife Betsey Peters-Epstein, an opera singer and cabaret artist, who regularly performs in concerts and chamber music festivals in and around the Northeast.
Also performing will be violinist Claudia Erdberg Warburg, on the music faculty of Duke University and a former member of the Ciompi String Quartet; violist Robert Dan, formerly a resident artist at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and now a teacher at Bates College; cellist Priscilla Taylor, creator and artistic director of Decompression Chamber Music and instructor of cello and string method at U Mass Boston, and Gary Schreiner, an Emmy Award-winning composer and producer who has scored hundreds of TV commercials and contributed music to countless TV shows and movies as well as having performed both onstage and recorded with, and produced a multitude of artists such as Roseanne Cash and Elton John.
