On 5 November from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm, the 1st Congregational Church of Blue Hill will host the 3rd Annual Dolly Fisher Fund Raiser Concert. The first concert was in honor of the retirement of Rob and Becky McCall in 2014. The Dolly Fisher Fund was initially Rob’s dream for an on-going avenue by which the church, the town, and the entire peninsula could reach out to help those in need of funds to supplement heating costs during the winter. It has become so much more.
Last year a second concert brought many donations to this vital fund. This year Nancy and Blaine Stoner have taken the lead, pulling together the third concert with the intent to make this a truly annual event for the Blue Hill Peninsula. Their vision is that this will become a tradition of Neighbors Helping Neighbors with 100% of the donations raised going to the Dolly Fisher Fund to support those in need with fuel and other items required to make winter easier when their own resources have run out.
This concert will be a memorable event thanks to our own Noel Stookey along with a host of other local singers, song writers, and musicians who have donated their time. This concert will also include the Top Combo from George Steven Academy under the direction of Steve Orlofsky. It promises to be an uplifting and inspiring evening. Bring the family!!!
