Belfast, ME – This Halloween season Our Town Belfast is inviting the community to a special 20th Anniversary showing of the movie Thinner. The campy Stephen King thriller was filmed in Belfast and along Midcoast Maine, giving added significance to the screening. Proceeds from the event support Our Town Belfast, a community-driven non-profit working to promote downtown health and vibrancy.
In addition to the film, the promotions committee at Our Town Belfast has planned carnival style FUNdraising games before the show and a strawberry pie after party in the downstairs lobby. In true Halloween spirit, there will be a prize awarded for the best Stephen King character (from any book or film – not just Thinner) costume. Extras and anyone involved in the filming of Thinner 20+ years ago are especially encouraged to attend. Admission is $10 at the door and a portion of concessions sold will benefit Our Town Belfast as well.
The screening, held October 25th at the Colonial Theatre, is sure to be a fun and appropriately spooky opportunity to see Maine on the big screen. Doors open at 6:30pm with the film to begin at 7pm.
