Sassy came to PAWS with open wounds and a large flap of skin on her hind end from the fight of her life with a predator. Following meticulous care by Dr Dewar at Calais Veterinary Clinic, Sassy was nurtured back to good health by PAWS staff and volunteers. Not surprisingly, she arrived at PAWS frightened and highly aggressive. During her six-month quarantine and recuperation period, she blossomed into the loving, friendly cat who was adopted in early December. Please help animals like Sassy by donating to the Blue Fund for urgent medical care via PAYPAL at www.paws-calais.com or via check sent to PAWS Brave Hearts, 368 South St, Calais, ME 04619.

Wyatt’s new life began when he was walking aimlessly along route one, so thin and weak that he could barely keep going. When he tried to outpace the oncoming traffic, the six-month-old kitten was thrown into the road by the force of a tire that shattered his tail. A PAWS volunteer rushed him to Little River Vet Clinic where he was given life saving treatment. Now weighing in at 7.5 lbs, he is recuperating from a tail amputation. Please help animals like Wyatt by donating to the Blue Fund for urgent medical care via PAYPAL at www.paws-calais.com or via check sent to 368 South St, Calais, ME 04619.

The proceeds of PAWS Spring Fling will support the care of lost, abandoned or abused companion animals, like these little tykes, who are in need of medical and emotional support and adoption.

Proceeds from PAWS raffle will support little tykes like Thyme, from the Scarborough Litter of four kittens who were left to die behind an enclosed dumpster. His sibling, Parsley, had suffered the loss of his foot and ankle after birth. Thanks to the efforts of a number of caring volunteers and our sister organization HART, all four kittens are healthy and happy in their new homes.
