Maine Governor Paul LePage spoke at a July 15 groundbreaking ceremony in Caribou for the construction of four duplexes to house homeless veterans, regardless of any psychological or substance issues they may have. The project, led by United Veterans of Maine, is called the Dahlgren-Skidgel Farm of Hope and will give homeless vets an opportunity to transition back into society via farm labor.

Calling himself “a history buff,” Gov. Paul LePage revised Civil War history as we know it in a Tuesday radio interview when discussing the racially charged violence in Virginia and saying “7,600 Mainers fought for the Confederacy.”
