The Maine Supreme Judicial Court on Tuesday upheld the conviction and 32-year prison sentence for a woman convicted of murdering her former husband in front of their young children.

Kandee Weyland Collind was accused of stabbing Scott Weyland to death while their children watched in February 2017 after she learned a judge awarded Weyland primary custody.

Collind has said she didn’t take her medication on the day of the stabbing and wasn’t thinking clearly.

She argued that a judge should’ve let her withdraw from a guilty plea, and that the judge abused his discretion in denying her motion and in imposing the 32-year sentence.
