A New Canada man was killed late Tuesday when he was ejected from his all-terrain vehicle in Fort Kent.

Travis Haley, 30, was riding his 2014 Polaris side by side on Black Lake Road when he lost control at a corner, went into a ditch and struck an embankment, causing the Polaris to roll over several times, according to Cpl. John MacDonald, a spokesperson for the Maine Warden Service.

Haley, who was the only occupant of the Polaris, was ejected. He died at the scene, MacDonald said.

Black Lake Road is a dirt road that crosses through agricultural fields and serves as an ATV trail, according to MacDonald.

No additional information about the crash was available Wednesday morning.
