Human remains have been found in a Unity stream, where authorities believe they have been for years.
Kayakers discovered the human remains on Friday while on Sandy Stream, according to Stephen McCausland, spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
McCausland said the remains appear to be those of an adult man and have likely been in the stream for “several years.”
So far, no match has been found in known missing person cases on file, McCausland said.
Additional searches will be conducted in the area this week.
