Two people died in a fire early Tuesday morning in the kitchen of an Ellsworth mobile home.

Firefighters found the bodies of Bruce Wallace, 67, and Linda Tarvis, 58, after a fire broke out in their home on Route 1A, also known as Bangor Road, at about 3:45 a.m., according to Stephen McCausland, spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.

The mobile home was already engulfed in flames when the first firefighters arrived there, McCausland said. State fire marshals are working to determine what started the fire.
