A Newburgh man was killed Wednesday morning when he lost control of his pickup truck on black ice on Interstate 95 in Hampden, according to the Maine State Police.
Stanley Swallow, 57, died at the scene, according to Stephen McCausland, spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
The truck was traveling in the northbound lanes about 5:30 a.m. when it struck a guardrail and overturned several times, he said. Swallow was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the pickup.
The victim is the 31st person to die on Maine roads this year, the same number as this time last year.
