An Ellsworth woman died on Easter Sunday when two vehicles collided on Route 1, according to police.

Ellen Strathman, 26, was driving alone in her vehicle on the highway, also known as Bucksport Road, when the crash occurred around 5:30 p.m., Ellsworth police said in a release. Strathman died at the scene.

Two people in the second vehicle, who police did not identify, were taken to a local hospital with only minor injuries and were treated and released, police said.

The road was closed for about two hours after the crash.

Further details about the incident were unavailable Monday.
